Calling, Charge, & Commission: The Challenge
Can you imagine a time when people thought that Christ was not for everyone? Who is in the family of faith and who is not continues to be a discussion in the Church, not just a particular denomination. To whom are we sent? Jesus said “all nations” (Matthew 28:19), and perhaps Christianity has been misinterpreting that, being limited by literalism. In the United Methodist Church, our holiest encounters, the sacraments of baptism and communion, are open to everyone. Radical hospitality and inclusion is a mark of our denomination. We encourage you to join us this Sunday as we re-frame our understanding of making disciples for Jesus Christ as a holy union of God’s grace and unparalleled openness to all.
