Beyond the Pulpit 10.13.24

This past week I took a few days off…the first time since my arrival at CUMC in July! I spent a few days at Virginia Beach, enjoyed the sunrise over the sea, and took leisurely beach walks before the fall temperatures arrived!

Then on Thursday, I participated in the Virginia Conference Clergy Day Apart at Floris UMC in Herndon. This was an opportunity for United Methodist clergy from around Virginia to gather together for a time of self-care and learning. I attended workshops including: “Discerning God’s Vision for Your Local Church” with Rev. Dr. Jason Stanley, and “A Church that Dares to Dream” with Rev. Cassandra Nunez. Both of these gave me inspiration and ideas for ministries with Crozet UMC and our community.

Today, we begin our Fall Worship Series, “Walking with Jesus.” This is a brief series that will take us through the end of the month as we focus on lectionary texts in worship and in our Sunday Grow Groups.

Beyond Sundays, you’re invited to join me and our Lay Leaders, Sandra Monohan and Joanne McDaniel, for a fun opportunity to connect with one another and our community, and get in our exercise at the same time!

Join us at the church at 7:30am and/or 6:00pm on Tuesdays, October 15, 22, and 29. We’ll take a casual 30 min walk and enjoy the fall leaves and brisk temperatures!
