March 15th Worship: Pray in Preparation
This Sunday we are reminded that decisions of great importance and times of transformation should be preceded by prayer. The Book of the Acts of the Apostles records how Barnabas and Saul were chosen by God and affirmed by the Church leaders for ministry. The United Methodist Church still uses this biblical model for those who feel called to ordained ministry.
Such preparatory prayer is not limited to clergy and those who would become clergy, but part of the way of being for all Christians. We pray to prepare for everything from trials to tribulations to medical treatment to travel. We pray to assist in the alignment of ourselves in body, mind, and spirit with the will and presence of God. This Sunday at 9:30 or 11:00 am, we invite you to discover for yourself how taking the time to pray in preparation changes the outcome of everything from our daily lives to our lifelong journey.
