February 28th Worship: Rebuilding the Temple: Coming Back from Exile – New Identity
By the word of the Prophet Jeremiah, God shares a new vision for the identity of His people. They had always defined themselves as a people who came out of Egypt, but hundreds of years later, God transforms their identity into one of a people who have experienced exile and persevered. Their experiences become the means for the next major transformation of their identity as individual believers and as a people. They cannot act as if nothing has happened, as if nothing has changed, but instead they are called to lean into and embrace who they are now, using it to fuel their next steps in their walk with the Lord.
