Beyond the Pulpit 3.30.25
Good Morning Crozet UMC,
Beyond the pulpit this week, I’ve mostly been catching up after vacation and illness. I’m grateful for all who stepped in last week when I was sick. It is good to know that the church is in good hands. And I’m thankful for the many expressions of care while I was out.
Our Church Council met last Monday and continues to work toward accomplishing our 2025 priorities and initiatives. Early in the week I met with each staff member one-on-one to check in and discuss our goals with one another. I made a few pastoral visits throughout the week, and presided at a wedding for a friend yesterday in Richmond.
I am also preparing for IMPACT Charlottesville’s biggest event of the year, the Nehemiah Action Assembly which will be held on Tuesday, April 8 at Charlottesville High School. Doors open at 6pm. Start time is 6:30pm. This event is about gathering people together from all over Charlottesville and Albemarle County who care about improving conditions like public transportation, affordable housing, and drug treatment and rehabilitation for women. Our bishop, Sue Haupert-Johnson will be opening the event. All are welcome, and you may pick up your ticket at church (or at the event!). I hope you will join me and our CUMC Justice Ministry Team.
Don’t forget to invite friends and family and join me for Concerts on the Corner this afternoon. Doors open at 4:30pm and the concert begins at 5pm. This time we are blessed to have a professional trio out of Tennessee, Sacred Harmony. You’ll see the big tour bus in the parking lot this afternoon! I hope to see you there!
