August 8th Worship: Toxic Christianity Legalism and the Legalistic Christian
When Christians excessively adhere to Church law, doctrines, and tradition, it can lead to a loss of the spirit of God’s Word. To prevent that, we must attend to our spiritual disciplines as individual disciples, and engage in prayerful discernment as the Family of Faith. This dual approach keeps us grounded in Christ, and accountable to one another who have pledged our love to each other. This week we confront the painful reality of legalism in the Church, and how we can navigate it when it collides with the earnest desire to follow Christ.
