September 1st Worship: Stop Swearing Vows and Promises (Communion Sunday)
“Do you swear?” “I swear on…” These phrases permeate our verbal culture, but Jesus strongly teaches against such a practice. This Sunday you can discover why. The underlying purpose to swearing at all is that our word cannot be trusted, but why would that be so? Authentic words are the expectation from Christ for his followers, and not just in our prayers and testimony, but in our conversations with others. We are being asked to set a different standard with our speech, and Jesus helps us do just that. This Sunday at 9:30 or 11:00 am, come and see for yourself!
