July 7th Worship: Clergy Are Holier Than Lay Persons
As our Summer Worship Series continues, this Sunday at 9:30 and 11:00 am, we address the notion that clergy are holier than lay persons. From where does this concept arise, and how does that affect our self-image? Distinction is not the same as hierarchy, and separate does not mean better. Instead, this Sunday, we explore the roles and purposes of laity and clergy, the people and the priesthood, to better understand what God has called forth in the Body of Christ and in each individual disciple.
